The American standard swing check valve, also known as a one-way valve or non-return valve, is an automatic valve that opens and closes automatically by the force generated by the flow of the medium itself in the pipeline. Used in pipeline systems, its main functions are to prevent medium backflow, prevent the reverse rotation of pumps and their drive motors, and prevent the discharge of media from containers. Check valves can also be used in pipelines supplying auxiliary systems where the pressure may rise above the main system pressure.
